How chiropractic found him
Dr. Michael Ennis knows what it’s like to feel stuck. As a child, his allergies were so severe that they kept him from many of the things other kids enjoyed. His parents did everything they were told to try: surgeries, shots, herbs and medications. Nothing seemed to make a lasting difference.
Then the family was introduced to a chiropractor.
After only a few visits, he felt better than he had in years. Just as important, the doctor took time to explain why. He described how nerve interference from an imbalanced spine could affect the way the body responds. For a young boy who had spent years feeling different, it was a turning point.
“It changed my life,” Dr. Ennis says. “I dedicated my life to helping others discover the one thing that so radically changed mine.”
More than 30 years of care
Dr. Ennis earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree and built a practice in the Houston area. Over more than 30 years of care, he has worked with patients of all ages, from infants to seniors, many of whom arrived after trying everything else.
Over time, he noticed a pattern. Patients would feel better, then the same problems would return. He often describes it with an analogy: an electrical panel with a master breaker at the top. If that master breaker has a short, the smaller breakers below keep tripping. You can reset them one by one, but they’ll keep tripping until the real problem is found.
In the spine, the master breaker is the atlas, the top bone in the neck. NUCCA upper cervical care gave Dr. Ennis a precise way to measure and correct it. That discovery reshaped his practice. His approach with patients
Dr. Ennis brings a calm, thorough and patient approach to every visit. He believes the first job of any doctor is to listen. Before he recommends anything, he wants to hear your full story: what you’re feeling, what you’ve tried and what you want to get back to.
He then explains what your exam and measurements show in plain English, so you understand what’s happening in your body and why. If NUCCA isn’t the right fit for you, he’ll tell you honestly.
